Why We'll Never Have Flying Cars

Actually... flying cars will exist... we just won't be able to use them.
Think about all the accidents people get into today. Most people are piss-poor drivers. If you accidents in the air, then what? Cars will drop to the earth in burning heaps of death. What if you run out of gas or have some other kind of malfunction? Are you just going to eject to safety while your hover escalade careens towards helpless pedestrians?
And while we're at it, we're not going to get jet packs either. People have a tough enough time getting their computer pointer to go where they want it to.
