Friday Shuffle

Back again, everybody's (me) favorite segment.
I hit shuffle on my iTunes library, and post the (sometimes embarrassing) results here.

  1. "The R.O.C." by Jay-Z: This sounds angry. Only a young angry man would listen to this. I still like Jay-Z's stuff, but have become annoyed with him as of late. Overexposed?
  2. "This is a Recording 4 Living in a Fulltime Era" by De La Soul: Love De La. If rappers were given grades, De La would have the highest GPA. A career of classic records. Not one bad album. The mainstream fell off them. Too bad. Some people are missing out.
  3.  "Offend in Every Way" by The White Stripes: Only 2 rock groups have been worth a damn the past 15 years, The White Stripes and Radiohead. Jack White's solo stuff is okay, and I get that he was always the musical genius of the group, but I miss the disfunction inherent in the group. Love the grit.
  4. "Woodchip Blues" by ??? from the Hillbilly Blues compilation: I love this stuff. If I had to go away to a cave and only have one type of music for the rest of my life, it may be Blues. I with I knew more about it, but I appreciate the hell of what I do know.
  5. "Be My Baby" by The Wonder Girls: There's no escaping the Anti-Life Equation that is K-Pop. The Wonder Girls are still trying to break into the American music scene, they even had a TV movie on Teen Nick, which really wasn't that bad. This song and video seems like a pop girl's take on Beyonce's "Put A Ring On It", and that's okay.
