Kick-Stopped

People are using Kickstarter incorrectly. It's not to fund your company's removal of banner ads. It's not for funding your game system created by superstar programmers. It's not supposed to take the place of earnings of venture capital. It's for creators who don't have means. It's literally to "kickstart" something into play. It's for independent music, films, apps, comics and so on. When bigger companies use it as a way to avoid business risks, it muddies the waters. Any minute now, Pepsi will announce a Kickstarter to develop a new flavor.
